Nostalgia is an interesting thing. It can bring you back to an earlier time in your life that holds special memories and give you the warm fuzzies from years ago. But, in some movies, just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Yes, I liked Ghostbusters: Afterlife, mostly because of the way it handled the death of Harold Ramis and its subtle humor, especially from the highly underrated actress, Carrie Coon.
The new Ghostbusters were back in New York and EVERYONE was back except Sigourney Weaver and Rick Moranis and honestly, I would have preferred them over perpetual jerk, William Atherton. Yes, he plays a jerk really well in Ghostbusters and the Die Hard movies but again, just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
It’s not that I didn’t like Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire but just that they seemed to make the movie because they could and it just lacked the heart of the original and Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
