If nothing else, the contrast of the 2 movies that I saw on this day were quite diverse. Army of the Dead starred Dave Bautista and his crew of would-be thieves in the huge city of Las Vegas. A sprawling big-budget movie if there ever was one.
Becky on the other hand starred Kevin James, yes, that Kevin James, as a white supremacist in a role that you couldn’t even recognize him in. it took place in a house and some woods and was basically Home Alone on steroids. Everything from the zipline and nails on boards to the fire to the face gags. Except this was no kid’s comedy movie. The actress wasn’t much older but she wasn’t out to humiliate some bumbling thieves, she literally mowed them down in her own ingenious ways.
I had flipped around and found it just as it started and I got sucked in to watch it until it ended right before midnight. I can’t say I’m proud of that but I did find the similarities to Home Alone almost ironic.
