I think most people know what The Thing is about, but if you haven’t seen the whole movie in a while, it’s worth a revisit. The entirety of the story really is what makes this a good horror movie. The Thing, which has the ability to change into something resembling its host is a great premise but the isolation and paranoia that come across in the movie are what is most terrifying. By putting yourself in the mindset of an unseen “villain” which can kill you and extreme isolation involved and you’re almost in 2020. Now, that’s scary!
