Synopsis and Details
Handsome, unflappable U.S. Congressman Stephen Collins is the future of his political party: an honorable appointee who serves as the chairman of a committee overseeing defense spending. All eyes are upon the rising star to be his party's contender for the upcoming presidential race. Until his research assistant/mistress is brutally murdered and buried secrets come tumbling out.

Boasting a true all-star cast, State of Play takes a mystery-thriller and does a good job of building the right amount of tension and intrigue. Russell Crowe is almost 10 years removed from Gladiator but you’ll love his hair if nothing else.
I’m not going to give much away but I’ll just say that if you come across it somewhere, it’s well-worth your time if you’re in for a tight quasi-political thriller.
