A newly remastered version of the original South Korean film has been released so a quick theater rerelease was in order before it hits streaming. I’ve heard a lot about it and unfortunately had even heard about the surprise ending twist.

That said, I didn’t know much else about the movie going in. I hope I’ll be forgiven if I thought that it was very much a comedy/action/thriller. Though parts of it are deathly serious, other parts seem to be played completely for laughs.

As it turned out, it wasn’t as good as I was hoping but I’ve still avoided the remake from 2013 that I’ve never heard anything good about.
