Movies “based” on historical events are often bloated and boring or stray so far from the facts that they bear little resemblance to what actually happened. I’m far from an expert on WWII but I thought that Midway was a very good representation of what happened. Ed Skrein is a good actor but in my mind he’s almost always a villain so to have him as the “hero” was a little disconcerting for me. There were other actors that played against type and you never know what you’re going to get in a Roland Emmerich movie but I’d not only recommend it but suggest you see it on the largest screen that you can find.
