Raiders of the Lost Ark was the 3rd movie that I saw in a theater so the franchise has always held a special attraction for me. Though it wasn’t a great movie, I vividly remember seeing Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom at a midnight showing in south Chicago the day it came out. (You can question my sanity back then too!)
Though Crystal Skull was a colossal disappointment, I was cautiously optimistic with Dial of Destiny. I wasn’t disappointed this time. The main 3rd act wasn’t my favorite part but I can let that go. The CGI that makes the characters look younger didn’t bother me that much like I thought it might.
It’s not perfect but the callbacks to the earlier movies and the very end of the movie was a fitting finale to the series of movies.
