Amazon Studios (yes, that Amazon) has been trying hard to become a bigger player in the streaming wars against Netflix, Disney+ and others. Their focus is more on feature-length movies instead of episodic series. They had been releasing some of them theatrically but with movie theaters a tough sell right now, their push has been virtual, including pre-screenings.
I had a chance to see I’m Your Woman early and was hopeful for it since I think that Rachel Brosnahan is a really good actress and anything that Frankie Faison is in is must-see. It’s set in the 1970’s and tells the story of a woman who is forced to live on the run because of her husband’s past. It’s tense and well-told and doesn’t make the viewer feel like they are stupid. I really liked it and hope that Amazon keeps putting out solid movies like this.
