The 2 movies that I was looking forward to the most this year were John Wick: Chapter 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy 3. There have been some pleasant surprises that I’ve come across like Cocaine Bear and SISU but the big sequels had a lot of hype and so I was hoping they would be really good.
JW4 exceeded expectations and was a great way to complete the story. GotG3 was good but not quite as satisfying as I was hoping. I knew going in that it was much more serious than the others and it really was but there was something more that it just seemed to be missing.
The music was ok and the story was fine but it always was a non-typical Marvel movie and I liked that about it.
I guess at this point I’ll just have to see what James Gunn does to the DC Universe.
