Goodfellas came out 30 years ago but until recently I had never seen it all the way through. There’s quite a few classic quotes from the movie and many iconic scenes that are instantly recognizable. The acting is top-notch as you’d expect with even a small role for Samuel L. Jackson, with one of his earlier movie credits.
More than a few people would put it in their Top 10 favorite movies of all time. Guess what? I’m not one of them. I enjoy movies based on actual people and this was well done but it just didn’t hit that “sweet spot” for me like the movies that are at the top of my list.
Culturally, Goodfellas is a classic. In the opinion of this movie guy, it’s a pretty good movie.
