Sometimes you surf around Netflix looking for a hidden gem and you stumble on a movie that has no business being as good as it is. Code 8 isn’t that movie. Not that it couldn’t be, but as interesting of a premise that it sets up, it just doesn’t nail the landing and the ending is weak and disappointing. This isn’t a big budget movie with A-List actors and film-makers and it doesn’t try to be but there are some areas that look like they just weren’t trying very hard. The drones and police force is actually a very interesting element that could have been used to even better effect. In the end, it is what it is, a Netflix movie.
