I’m a fan of James Gunn. The Guardians of the Galaxy movies are easily my favorites in the superhero genre. Where I think he also excels is as a writer. He creates some very interesting movie characters and stories. Check out The Belko Experiment sometime. Blackburn is another movie that has his fingerprints all over it. Imagine if Superman came to earth but instead of being a good guy, he was a bad guy. He didn’t stop terrible things from happening, he used his powers to do awful things. It’s an unusual concept to wrap your head around but I really liked this movie.
