When Warren Cheswick arrives on the scene, you know things are about it go off the rails and that’s quite a feat in Barbarian. From the get-go, there’s something in the tone of the movie that makes you uncomfortable but you can’t put your finger on it exactly. Barbarian is another one of those horror movies that is pretty intense and then it seems to intentionally take a hard turn into mayhem.
There’s definitely 2 different parts to the movie but they are tied together well and in the end, as bizarre as it becomes, you walk away almost smiling a little because of what just happened.
