Ouch! I didn’t go into this movie expecting it to be as good as the original Backdraft. The Ron Howard version is one of my favorite movies with a great Hans Zimmer/Bruce Hornsby soundtrack and a solid story. This one had… none of that. There were a couple hold-over characters from the first movie but they didn’t even hold up that well. The story could have been believable but somewhere along the way, the desire to capitalize on the original, it lost its way. Too bad.
