The defense and the prosecution have rested and the jury is filing into the jury room to decide if a young Spanish-American is guilty or innocent of murdering his father. What begins as an open and shut case soon becomes a mini-drama of each of the jurors' prejudices and preconceptions about the trial, the accused, and each other.

12 Angry Men begins with a mirror image of 2020. As the title suggests, people are angry, and they are angry with each other. In many cases, there is really no basis for the anger but rather just something to be upset about. I haven’t seen many movies from the 50’s but I do have a few in my library so I decided to check it out. It’s interesting to see so many well-known actors in some of their first acting roles. It’s not uncommon for some over-acting in a movie like this. The story is pretty simple but even if you can see the way it’s going, it’s fascinating to see how and why each man changes his mind.
I may have expected more but it was pretty good. The ending, however, doesn’t seem al that plausible in our society today. That’s sad.
