Sometimes you go to a movie knowing that it’s not going to be “fun” but it’s a subject that you want to know more about or find intriguing. Sound of Freedom is such a movie. Controversy aside, which I personally think says a lot about those that are deriding the movie, it’s well-done and a movie that’s hard to watch at times but something that we need to all be more aware of and not just pretend it doesn’t exist.
People have asked me about it and I tell them that it’s “gritty”. There’s some mild cursing and drinking and smoking but I felt that making a squeaky-clean movie about child-trafficking would be disingenuous.
It’s based on a true story and even if it’s not 100% true to life, the story is believable and could very well be real.

A powerful movie, for sure.
