Free Guy was one of the movies that I’ve been looking forward to the most with all the movie release delays. As it got closer I was wondering if it might live up to expectations. Ryan Reynolds is one favorite actors, especially since his turn as Deadpool. I just appreciate the fact that he doesn’t seem to take himself too seriously.
Jodie Comer is a hidden treasure. She’s great in Killing Eve and she’s just a fun actress to watch. She can do action, comedy and we’ll see about drama in The Last Duel.
If you haven’t discovered Taika Waititi yet though…what rock have you been living under? From his directing of Thor: Ragnarok and Jojo Rabbit to his acting in both as well as The latest Suicide Squad, he jumps off the screen and is one of the most original personalities making movies right now. He doesn’t show up until later in the movie but he steals every scene he’s in.
Yes, it’s a little confusing at times but who cares? Just have fun with it. If you can’t laugh a little at the one on one fight near the end that drops 5 comedic moments almost on top of each other, you’re just in the wrong movie.
See it with a group of people. This is a great movie for right now.
