I didn’t know much about Fatale when I went to see it. I knew the basic story but nothing more. I was kind of hoping for something along the lines of a Brian DePalma movie with a film noir look. As it turned out, it wasn’t really like that at all but I wasn’t disappointed. It’s got a Fatal Attraction vibe where the Hilary Swank character can go from completely normal to fully unhinged in a matter of seconds. There are some weak plot holes and some amazing coincidences but I found it to be a solid thriller. It was nice to see a movie with a predominately black cast that wasn’t using race as a tool to drive the story. I like the idea of seeing affluent characters of any race and they can be good or bad and it has nothing to do with the color of their skin.
