True stories are tricky. Some are really good but too many are just kind of lame. American Underdog seems a little too unbelievable but that’s part of the charm because it really isn’t embellished at all. Zachary Levi is really a likeable actor and Anna Paquin really nails her role as Warner’s wife, Brenda.

The faith element is evident without it smashing it in your face, very well done. The mixture of actual footage and movie-making was nicely integrated.
