If you’re easily offended, stay far away from The Hunt. You know what, on second thought, go see it. …and see it again and again and again until you get over yourself. The controversy from last fall when the movie release was cancelled is exactly why this movie is so entertaining, because the idea of assuming you know beyond any doubt what someone is thinking is absolutely ridiculous and yet now, everyone is an expert on everyone else. The movie equally skewers liberals and conservatives. Not for what they believe but for how they are so insistent that they are right and everyone that disagrees with you should be shot on the spot. In the vein of Ready or Not, one of my favorites of 2019, it’s ultra-violent and laugh out loud funny. Some have said that the ending is weak but I think it perfectly sums up the insanity. ….and next time you feel like spouting off about something that you really don’t know first-hand….SHUT UP!
I watched The Hunt again and I enjoyed it at least as much as the first time, if not more. For those that think they’re going to get angry by seeing it, I think it might surprise you. I’ve said what I think about this movie and it all holds true. If you see it and it still offends you, tell me. I’d love to have that conversation with you.
